It’s a good time to be investing in real estate – specifically, single-family homes – according to a wealthy Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett.

Buffett, appearing on CNBC on February 27, said purchasing this form of real estate is the way to go to benefit in the current economic conditions.

“If you have a way to manage … single-family homes are selling at very attractive prices in many places,” he said.

Investors can find the “way to manage,” or funding for these investments, through a source they might not have thought of before: their retirement accounts. Through a self-directed IRA, investors can invest in properties, and all the profits go back to the IRA – tax-free.
