Stan Brady’s Methodical Approach Leads to a Diverse Investment Portfolio
Stan Brady of Norcross, GA is not your typical real estate investor. His background in aerospace engineering and physical sciences has provided him a unique perspective on the world of investing.
When he was laid off from a lengthy career in the aerospace industry, Stan didn’t see it an ending. He saw it as an opportunity.
When One Door Closes…
“Getting laid-off as an adult was a real milestone for me,” Brady said. “I think there are a couple of times in life, when you have an opportunity presented to you, you have to seize it. I happened to be in the right place at the right time.”
Stan took his chance to go out on his own and started in a long line of successful projects. From owning and operating his own service industry business to being a full-time investor and expert in self-directed investing, Brady has sought out investment opportunities that others may pass up.
Unlike many investors, he has not limited himself to any particular investment vehicle. His attention to detail has allowed him to become a “Jack-of-All-Trades” in his investing career.
Investment Opportunities Abound if You Are Willing to Take Advantage of Them
Some of Brady’s best returns have come from his “unconventional” rehab projects. He doesn’t shy away from some of the more distressed properties. Many of his rehabs have brought six-figure returns to his IRA, including a large property that had been gutted by a fire and no one else would touch.
Rehabs are only a one portion of his portfolio though.
According to Brady, “I’ve expanded the business a lot – mixed it up a bit.”
He has taken the accounts of his family, including his 10 and 11 year-old daughters, and partnered them together in the ownership of an entire mobile home park. When a local landscaping business needed new equipment, he saw yet another opportunity and jumped into equipment leasing.
Sharing his Secrets to Success
Brady’s success has come from his ability see the potential profit in a deal when no one else does. His technical mind has helped him take on some larger projects that other investors may shy away from.
He isn’t shy about sharing his success either. His family members aren’t the only others he has introduced to the world of self-directed investing.
“I’ve migrated a lot of my friends and investing buddies over to Equity Trust,” Brady says.
He stays with them as a mentor to help them get the ball rolling, because as he says, this “isn’t passive investing. This takes work.”
If the past is any indication, he is up to the task.
