Step 4: Final Steps in Properly Completing the Real Estate Direction of Investment

Final Step (required)

-When you submit your Real Estate Direction of Investment to Equity Trust you must enclose the following documents showing IRA ownership in the investment.

By far, the most frequent causes of investment delay is investments not being titled properly. Your IRA is considered the legal owner of this investment property and as such, title must be reflected. The proper title for your investments must be:

 

Equity Trust Company Custodian FBO Your Name IRA

 

Remember that your IRA is the owner of this investment, not you personally. Anywhere on your investment documents that would show personal ownership in a non IRA related transaction must be modified to show this title or investment delays will occur.
