Invest in both traditional and alternative assets with a single custodian – ready to go beyond a self-directed IRA?
CLEVELAND, OHIO, AUGUST 1, 2021
Equity Trust Company, a leading, technology-enabled financial services company offering alternative asset custody in retirement accounts, has announced the appointment of Mark Furmanek as chief operating officer. Furmanek brings extensive knowledge and experience in the precious metals and self-directed IRA industries.
As COO, Furmanek is responsible for driving the strategy to create faster, cost-effective operations that deliver an exceptional client and associate experience. He has already made some great improvements to the client experience and will continue making efficiencies wherever possible. This applies to the precious metals dealer experience as well. Furmanek has been in the IRA and/or metals space for almost 12 years.
“I am excited to be back in the IRA arena and support the precious metals industry,” he said.
Most recently, Furmanek served as chief operations and technology officer with precious metals wholesaler Dillon Gage, where he planned and executed multiple software conversions. Before that, he worked as executive vice president and chief operating officer with New Direction IRA, where he focused on elevating the client and associate experience. During his tenure, Furmanek designed and developed the company’s online self-service portal and implemented software conversions and process improvements that streamlined client onboarding and transactional execution which led to significant growth.
“I’m excited to welcome Mark to our organization,” said Equity Trust CEO George Sullivan. “His proven record in digital transformation and corporate technology strategy as an experienced operations leader aligns with our vision and commitment to providing a superior client experience.”
“I’m proud and honored to join Equity Trust’s leadership team,” said Furmanek. “I am energized by the opportunity to help the company continue to grow and fulfill its mission to inspire, educate and support investors and to achieve more.”
Furmanek has already made strides and will continue to focus on leveraging technology, digitizing the investing journey, and expediting the account open and funding process.
