Private Equity Investing in IRAs

The private equity asset class has enjoyed a period of unprecedented success over the past decade, according to the Preqin Alternatives 2019 Report, and is continuing to grow in importance.

Institutional investors believe that private equity will likely continue to deliver superior returns relative to other asset classes, the report says, with 31% of advisors surveyed looking to increase their allocations over the next 12 months and 46% over the longer term.

In addition to holding publicly traded assets, your client’s Equity Institutional account may also purchase a number of private equity investments, including:

  • Stock of C-corporations
  • Limited partnerships
  • Limited liability companies
  • REITs
