INDIANAPOLIS, IN, January 14, 2025
Holdfolio, an online platform for private real estate investing, and Equity Trust Company, a leading self-directed IRA custodian, announced a strategic collaboration that will make investing in private real estate using a retirement account easier than ever.
With this new integration, Equity Trust clients can invest directly in private real estate holdings offered by Holdfolio through a platform called WealthBridge. WealthBridge securely links Equity Trust IRA accounts to Holdfolio so clients can add private real estate holdings to their retirement accounts in just a few clicks.
“Investing in real estate with an IRA has been cumbersome in the past; however, through WealthBridge, it is now a quick and easy process,” Holdfolio CEO Jacob Blackett said. “Private real estate investments can increase portfolio diversification, leading to potential better performance overall.”
Holdfolio provides access to several real estate asset types, including multifamily, self-storage, mobile homes, senior living, mixed-use, and hotels. Holdfolio has placed hundreds of investments over the past decade and has direct access to some of the most exclusive deals in the country.
“We specialize in private real estate opportunities because we believe they are one of the best ways to diversify a portfolio and to help safeguard and grow retirement funds,” Blackett said.
Since Holdfolio invests alongside its investors, there is a high degree of alignment as investors benefit from Holdfolio’s proactive, hands-on approach to managing their investment portfolio. With a focus on quality over quantity, Holdfolio invests in one new opportunity per month on average, often evaluating 50 to 100 deals for every deal they invest in.
“We believe this increased access to private real estate through Holdfolio—coupled with the ease of investing with WealthBridge—will be a game-changer for our clients,” Equity Trust CEO George Sullivan said. “This new technology takes the investment process from multiple days to a matter of minutes.”
Self-directed IRAs provide individuals with a wide range of investment options outside of the traditional stocks and bonds offered by most retirement account providers. Equity Trust Company, which enables access to a diverse array of alternative assets, custodies and administers 403,000 self-directed accounts as of January 1, 2025.
