Equity Trust Employees Spread Generosity with Food & Toy Drives

Equity Trust Employees at BGC Christmas

Equity Trust Company’s tradition of giving back to the community continues this holiday season with several activities including a food drive, turkey bake and a toy drive.

Equity Trust employees participated in a toy drive to supply Christmas gifts to members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County (Ohio) – Desich Family Campus. Children will receive the gifts at a party, which was hosted at Equity Trust headquarters on December 14.

Equity Trust employees have partnered with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County on various occasions over the past several years.

The support that our children have received from Equity Trust is not anything that we have ever seen before.

Mike Conibear, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County

“The way Equity has embraced our children is very much appreciated. Equity Trust has fed over 100 families in the South Lorain Community, given Christmas gifts to hundreds of children at the holidays and has volunteered tons of hours…Their support is truly unmatched and we are extremely grateful,” said Conibear.

Before Thanksgiving, employees collected more than 27,000 food and personal items, which were donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County and the Westlake, Ohio Senior Center and Food Pantry. More than $1,400 was also donated, which the company matched.

A contest was held to see which floor could collectively donate the most items.

“Our company goal for the food drive this year was 7,000 items. We’re proud to say our generous employees far surpassed that amount, collecting five times what was donated last year,” said Equity Trust CEO Matt Wilson. “When our associates are tasked with giving back to the community, they produce amazing results.”

Equity Trust employees also donated their time to collectively bake 100 turkeys, provided by the company, which were distributed by St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Lorain on Thanksgiving. This was the tenth year Equity Trust participated in the program.

Other Equity Trust charitable activities in 2017 included donation drives benefitting hurricane victims, local animal shelters and employees volunteering at various organizations throughout the region.
