real estate hot spot suggests you look beyond your local market when considering where to invest in real estate in 2014. The publication released its online list of the hottest places in the U.S. to invest in real estate.

If you live near one of these cities, you’re in luck: you don’t have to look any further to find a so-called hotspot. The author cites some college towns that are generally a good place for rental properties, as well as some other areas of the country that have rental rates that can be profitable. Here are the top regions that made the list, which, the author admits, is not exhaustive and might overlook a few:
  • Wichita Falls, Texas
  • Lubbock, Texas
  • Syracuse, New York
  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Ithaca, New York
  • Austin, Texas
  • Rochester, New York
  • Gainesville, Florida
  • Schenectady, New York
See the article at for more details on why these cities made the list. Leave us a comment: Are you seeing favorable real estate investment conditions in a region not included in this list?
